Your customers rely on few things more than they rely on the water that comes from their taps. And yet, it is one of the things they take most for granted. At WesTech, we understand the crucial role municipal water treatment plays in our everyday lives. We supply an array of water treatment solutions for municipalities across the globe.
Groundwater Treatment
WesTech offers a wide variety of equipment for groundwater treatment for potable use. Whether your treatment objective is gas removal, nitrate removal, iron and manganese removal, color removal, softening, or even filtering a source under the direct influence of surface water, WesTech has your solution.
Surface Water Treatment
WesTech also offers a holistic approach to surface water treatment for potable use. Depending upon the raw water quality, flow rate, and operational preferences, WesTech can provide conventional treatment systems, combination treatment units, package plants, high-rate processes, or even customized solutions.
With the iconic General Filter and Microfloc brands under the WesTech umbrella, WesTech has the breadth of experience and process capability to provide comprehensive solutions for all water treatment applications, including: Aeration, Flocculation and Clarification, Filtration, Thickening, and Backwash Recovery.
General Filter logo
General Filter was founded in 1935 in Ames, Iowa. It had a long tradition of innovation, beginning with the invention of the ATOMERATOR™ system – an innovative way of introducing oxygen into a process stream without breaking system pressure. Over time, General Filter became established as an industry standard for all varieties of manufactured water treatment equipment, including pressure filters, clarifiers, and aerators.
Microfloc logo
Microfloc was founded in 1961 and made its mark on the industry with several innovative water treatment methods, including the mixed media filter bed, the first commercially viable tube settler, the upflow Adsorption Clarifier® system, and a method for electronic control of coagulation chemical addition. Microfloc continued in the tradition of innovation with the Trident® HS system, which remains the most sophisticated package treatment system on the market.
Municipal Water Solutions:
Municipal Water Aeration
Aeration is an effective and low-cost solution to oxidize iron and manganese. It can also provide high-efficiency removal of gases such as hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, methane, and volatile organic carbons, which results in better water-treatment process performance and improved taste and odor.
Backwash Recovery
Water conservation is an important consideration in today’s water treatment plants. Spent filter backwash treatment can easily be incorporated into your plant design or existing facility. WesTech solutions can result in a water recovery efficiency of >99 percent.
Municipal Filtration
Filters come in all shapes, sizes, and configurations. WesTech will help you select the right filter for your application. This might mean a cluster filter with self-generating backwash, packaged steel tank filter, pressure filters, or membrane filter. Selecting filter internals such as underdrains, washtroughs, and media is just as important. We have more options and expertise than anyone else in the market.
Flocculation and Clarification
Source waters with moderate-to-high turbidity and/or organics require pretreatment. WesTech can provide conventional layouts with separate flocculation and clarification, or combination units such as solids contact clarifiers and high-rate processes that can squeeze into very small footprints. Need soft water? No problem, we do that too.
Thickening Equipment for Water Treatment
Gravity sludge thickeners are an easy and cost-effective approach to minimizing the volume of waste solids. Our experts size thickener equipment to achieve the highest concentration of sludge within the smallest footprint.
